Policies and Pricing

Families with more than one child enrolled in classes will receive a 10% discount on tuition. The discount will be applied to the child with the lowest tuition. Discounts will not be applied to costume, company, or competition fees.

ELITE ACADEMY OF DANCE POLICIES

• Elite Academy of Dance reserves the right to cancel or combine any class due to insufficient enrollment.  Class size minimum is six students. If a class does not meet this minimum, it may be canceled or combined with another class.
• The Age/Experience recommendations are guidelines only. Student placement is subject to instructor’s approval.
• An ACTIVE email address is required at the time of registration. All important studio information will be sent via email.
• In order to participate in the June 2012 recital, students must be enrolled in classes for the entire Winter/Spring Recital Session.
• Dancers will be measured for their costumes in late November/early December. We must be notified if your child is NOT participating in the recital by the first week of the Winter/Spring Recital Session.
• A $30.00 (per class) recital costume deposit is due at the time of your Winter/Spring Recital Session payment. This payment is due no later than Saturday, December 10th. We will not order a costume for any dancer who not submitted a costume deposit by Saturday, December 10th.
• Elite Academy of Dance follows St. Charles School District 303 calendars. If school is canceled due to weather, our dance classes may also be canceled. There will be no refunds given for classes canceled due to weather, however, you are more than welcome to attend for a make-up class in a class that is the same level or lower than the class that is missed. All missed classes must be made up within the current session. Elite Academy of Dance class cancellations will be posted on our website at www.elitedancese.com and also on our studio voicemail at (847)-488-1239. Please call the studio and check our website before coming to class.
• Elite Academy of Dance will be open for classes an ALL school improvement days, institute days, and teacher work days.
• Class, company, competition, and costume fees are non-refundable.

CLASS ATTIRE

ALL DANCE SHOES MUST BE LABELED WITH DANCER’S NAME

• Combos: Ballet shoes should be leather or canvas ONLY, with leather or suede soles and an elastic strap across the arch.  Slip-on satin shoes (like the kind found at Target) without elastic are meant for dress-up only -- their soles are too slippery for the dance floor, and they slip off the foot too easily.  (There is no color requirement for class, but those doing ballet in the June recital will wear pink shoes.)  If your ballet shoes have an adjustable drawstring, please tie the string in a double knot and cut off all excess at the base of the knot -- this saves us a LOT of time in class by not having to re-tie shoes!
• Ballet: Dancers must wear a leotard, tights, and pink canvas or leather ballet shoes. Split sole ballet shoes are preferred. Ballet skirts or tight fitting "bike" shorts may be worn over tights. Ponytails are not allowed for Ballet Levels 1 and up; hair must be in a bun. All flyaways and bangs must be pinned back. .
• Jazz: Black jazz shoes, tight fitting shirt or leotard, tight fitting pants or shorts. Hair must be pulled back away from face. All flyaways and bangs must be pinned back.
• Tap: Black tap shoes, tight fitting shirt or leotard, tight fitting pants or shorts. Patent leather tap shoes and heeled tap shoes are not allowed. Hair must be pulled back away from face. All flyaways and bangs must be pinned back.
• Hip Hop: Levels 1 and 2: Black jazz shoes or a CLEAN pair of sneakers. Levels 3 and up: A CLEAN pair of sneakers or hip hop shoes. NO STREET SHOES ARE ALLOWED ON THE STUDIO FLOORS. All Levels: Tight fitting shirt with tight fitting pants or shorts. Hair must be pulled back away from face. All flyaways and bangs must be pinned back.
• Lyrical: Pink canvas ballet shoes and/or tan FootUndeez (Capezio brand will be worn in recital). Tight fitting shirt or leotard, tight fitting pants, shorts, or tights. Hair must be pulled back away from face. All flyaways and bangs must be pinned back.
• Modern: Tight fitting shirt or leotard, tights, tight fitting shorts, or pants allowed, bare feet. Hair must be pulled back away from face. All flyaways and bangs must be pinned back.
